It's the Uruguayan's worst ever start to a season with Barcelona

He is averaging a goal every 387 minutes through 13 appearances

Luis Suarez has made his worst start to a season since he joined Barcelona in 2014. After 13 games, he's averaging a goal every 387 minutes -- not great numbers for a player who's established himself as one of the game's best strikers.

The Uruguayan made his debut for the club on Oct. 25, 2014, after completing a FIFA-imposed ban. It took him a while to adapt to the team's system and his new teammates and in his first 13 games he averaged a goal every 261 minutes.

Suarez struggled to get started. In fact, his first goal did not arrive until Nov. 25, 2014, one month after his debut. It came in a 4-0 Champions League win against APOEL.

He closed the season having played 43 games. In that time he scored 25 goals and provided 24 assists and averaged a goal every 141 minutes.

BEST SEASON

In his second season, he improved. After his first 13 appearances (like now) he had scored seven goals and set up four. At that point, he was averaging a goal every 171 minutes. By the end of the season (59 goals in 53 games and 4,766 minutes) he was scoring a goal every 80 minutes.

In his third season (2016-17), he averaged a goal every 100 minutes through his first 13 games. At the end of the campaign, he had played 51 matches, 4,302 minutes and scored 37 goals, one every 116 minutes.

Now in his fourth season, he's made his worst start. After 13 appearances, his statistics are poor: three goals in 1,162 minutes, which is a goal every 387 minutes.

The goals he has scored were against Espanyol, the fifth in a 5-0 win, Girona, also the final goal in a 3-0 win, and the late equaliser against Atletico Madrid last month.

Suarez could have scored more with the chances he's had, but goalkeepers and the woodwork have kept him out. He hit the post against Real Madrid in the Super Cup and the bar against Olympiakos on Tuesday.
