Copa del Rey draw: Barcelona paired with Cornella in Catalan derby

The third division side have been rewarded for beating Atletico by drawing Barça

Barcelona will meet third division Cornella in the last 32 of the Copa del Rey after the two Catalan sides were paired together in Friday's draw.

Cornella beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the shock result of the last round to make it this far, while Barça are only just entering the competition at this stage.

The game will be played at Cornella's stadium, which is just 15 metres away from Espanyol's ground on the outskirts of Barcelona, later in January.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid will travel to Alcoyano, Ibiza will host Athletic Club and Real Sociedad are away against Cordoba.

Barça remain the current runners-up of the Copa del Rey after losing the 2019 final to Valencia as the 2020 final between Athletic and La Real has not yet been played.

Last season, Barça were knocked out to Athletic after beating Ibiza.
