Copa del Rey: Barcelona's six possible rivals in Friday's draw

The Catalan side will face one of the smallest teams left in the competition

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Athletic Club will enter the Copa del Rey on Friday as the draw for the round of 32 takes place at Las Rozas.

The four teams have been afforded a bye until this stage to allow them to compete in the Spanish Supercopa next week.

They will draw one of the lowest ranked teams left in the competition, meaning there are only six possible opponents for Barça in the next round.

One of those teams is Cornella, the Barcelona-based side that shocked Atletico Madrid earlier this week by beating them 1-0.

Another possible opponent is Ibize, who Barça drew last season and only just beat, winning 2-1 thanks to Antoine Griezmann's late goal on the White Isle.

Barça's six possible opponents are: Cornellà, UD Ibiza, Navalcarnero, Córdoba, Penya Deportiva or Alcoyano.

The draw

Barça's six opponents are all playing in the third tier of Spanish football and make up Pot 1, while Barça and the other three sides entering the competition are Pot 2.

The two Pot 1 teams that don't draw a Pot 2 team will face one of the sides from Pot 3, which is made up of the remaining La Liga sides in the competition: Sevilla, Granada, Villarreal, Valladolid, Elche, Levante, Betis, Osasuna, Alavés, Cádiz, Valencia and Eibar.

The rest of the La Liga sides will then be drawn against a Pot 4 team, which includes the following second division sides: Girona, Espanyol, Alcorcón, Almería, Leganés, Rayo Vallecano, Tenerife, Fuenlabrada, Málaga and Sporting.

The games will be played across four different dates: Jan 16, Jan. 17, Jan. 20 and Jan. 21, with the draw for the last 16 scheduled for Jan. 22.
