Some of the South Americans will be off until Jan. 2

Barcelona's players are now on holiday after the 4-1 win over Alaves at Camp Nou on Sunday. The majority of the players will have just over a week off, with the next training session on Dec. 29 at 18h.

There are four exceptions. In the case of the South American players Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal and Neto Murara, they are not due back in until four days later, in concrete, on Jan. 2.

Barca have their first game of 2020 just two days later and it's not any old game. On Jan. 4, when La Liga resumes, they will visit rivals Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium.

DERBY PLANS

Barça already have that week planned. After training on Dec. 29, they will have a double session on Dec. 30, at 11 hand 18h. On Dec. 31 they will close the year with a session in the morning.

On Jan. 1, they will have the day off, with an afternoon session on Jan. 2. They will then train again with the presence of all first-team players on Jan. 3 ahead of the Catalan derby.

The day after the derby, on Jan. 5 at 11h, Barca will then hold an open training session at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
