Munir is out of contract in the summer and can leave Camp Nou for free

Sevilla sporting director Joaquin Caparros has not denied the club's interest in Barcelona forward Munir in an interview with the club's television channel.

The former coach said that "nothing is closed" but appeared to confirm Sevilla's interest in signing the one-cap Spain international.

Caparros recognised that Munur "is an option. He's a young forward that fits our profile [of player], he's the type of player that we're obliged to look at," he explained.

The operation is in the negotiation phase with the Barça man to decide if he comes in January or moves to the Sanchez Pizjuan in the summer, on a free.

"He's a kid that's out of contract and that's told his club he doesn't want to renew," Caparros added. "He is an option. The club have followed him for a while. Nothing is closed, although if it was I wouldn't say anything."

Sevilla are waiting to see how talks between Munir's agent and Barça go. With him currently frozen out of the team, a January move is not off the cards.
