On the occasion of the premiere of the film '42 seconds', Manel Estiarte, Pep Guardiola's right-hand man, took advantage of an interview on 'RAC1' to confirm that Bernardo Silva is staying at Manchester City.
The Portuguese midfielder will not move from the Etihad Stadium, insisted the former Spanish water polo player, dousing the excitement over his possible transfer to FC Barcelona.
"There is nothing. Bernardo plays today and stays at City," he said. As such, Silva will likely start tonight against Nottingham Forest. The Portuguese has begun the season in fine form with two goals and an assist in five games.
He will be prominent on Barça's agenda on the penultimate day of the transfer window, and his future should be confirmed shortly.
Barça, for their part, continue to work on departures to lighten their wage bill, so they can sign the desired additions.
