Barcelona's Nelson Semedo deemed too expensive by Bayern Munich

The German side are in the market for a new right-back

Bayern Munich are one of the clubs to have shown an interest in Nelson Semedo's situation at Barcelona. The German champions are in the market for a right-back and the Portugal international is on their shortlist, although he is not the top target.

Ajax's Sergiño Dest is the player they like the most for the role. At 19, the United States international has had a breakthrough season in Amsterdam, where he has played 36 matches, scoring twice and setting up another goal.

Dest's age and his potential to improve are big factors in why he's preferred but Bayern also like his price: around 30 million euros, which is less than the 40 million Barça want for the 26-year-old Nelson Semedo.

However, Semedo's name remains on the table at Bayern, in the event that they can't get Dest. But there are reservations about the cost of the former Benfica defender.

Manchester City

Barça are also talking with Manchester City about Semedo. The Premier League side want a replacement for Joao Cancelo, who is still at the club for now. Bayern are following the talks.

The German champions have Pavard, Lucas Hernández and Alphonse Davies to cover their full-back positions but would like to add a fourth option to their squad.

That's one of their priorities, along with Man City winger Leroy Sane and a defensive midfielder.
