The player has chosen City ahead of Juve and Inter Milan
Barcelona are ready to sell Nelson Semedo for 40 million euros to raise funds for their transfer moves this summer. Unlike Arthur and Ivan Rakitic, the right back is ready and willing to leave. Man City's offer is that which he likes the most, on a sporting and financial level.
Barca tried to use him in trade deals with Inter and Juve for Lautaro Martinez and Miralem Pjanic but Semedo preferred the move to Pep Guardiola's Man City.
City have offered Joao Cancelo, whom they signed for 65 million euros, but Barca are not interested. They want the money.
Semedo's exit price is 40 million. He arrived at Barca from Benfica for 30m but has done well at Camp Nou, even though he rotates with Sergi Roberto.
At 26 he still has capacity to improve and could definitely do so under Guardiola's tutelage.
Semedo's sale will give Bartomeu and the board breathing room financially. With the extra 40m they will be better off trying to get Pjanic and especially Lautaro. They will have to pay inter 50-60m for the striker, plus two players.
