The players were tested for Covid-19 at the training ground on Wednesday

Barcelona's players were back at the training ground on Wednesday for the first time since the state of emergency was put in place in Spain, two months ago.

The players arrived in various time slots to undergo coronavirus testing and some basic medical testing to check on their weight and body fat following eight weeks in lockdown.

The majority of Quique Setien's squad arrived with masks on and some were even wearing gloves. The protocol doesn't require people to wear masks when they're in their own vehicles, but they must put them on when they step out onto the club's facilities.

Barça handed out masks and gloves to all the players that needed them, in addition to disinfectant, hand sanitiser and training kit in sealed bags.

Sergi Roberto and Ivan Rakitic were the first to be tested, with the rest of the players arriving in staggered time brackets throughout the day.

TRAINING NEXT

The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper will slowly take steps back towards normal activity on Friday, when the players are next due in for the start of individual training sessions.

Barça have planned individual workouts, including ball work, for each member of the squad. The number of players on the pitch at any one time will be limited and social distancing will be respected throughout. The players should arrive in their kit and return home to shower afterwards.

If everything goes to plan, Barça, and the rest of La Liga, hope to return to smaller group sessions soon, before working out as normal at the beginning of June, with the league hopeful of restarting next month.
