Barcelona faced Tottenham in the Champions League without any pressure having already won their Champions League group. That allowed Ernesto Valverde to give some of his players a rest. And the team seemed to take the game in a more relaxed manner than normal.

And the statistics reflect that. Especially one: ball possession. Barça have always been a team that wants to have the ball and that means they nealry always enjoy more possession. But this time, against Tottenham, it wasn't the case. Especially in the second half, when the English side, who were playing to stay in the competition, had to take risks and took control of the game. They ended the game with 51.2 percent of the possession. Barça had 48.8 percent.

It's been 12 years since someone took the ball off Barça in the Champions League. It was in 2006 in a game against Werder Bremen. The German side had 57.1 percent. Barça had 42.9 percent.
