Napoli will have to drop their interest in signing Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, after learning how much he would cost.
The report in the Italian newspaper says Napoli feel the French World Cup winner is too expensive for them and will look at alternative options.
Barça are open to offers for Umtiti, despite the fact he wants to stay and fulfill his contract. However. the Catalan club need money and the centre-back's injury problems and dip in form have made him transferable.
The Blaugrana are hopeful of pocketing up to 50 million euros for the defender, although that figure is likely to drop due to the coronavirus pandemic and the financial effects it will have on football.
Napoli are in the market for a centre-back due to the expected departure of Kalidou Koulibaly but Umtiti, at the moment, is not in their price range.
