Barça will sell Marlon Santos to Southampton for 12 million euros
Negotiations are advanced and Marlon's agents were in Barcelona this week
Barcelona are a step away from closing the sale of Brazilian defender Marlon Santos for 12 million euros plus bonuses.
SPORT have learned that his destination, finally, will be Premier League side Southampton, who have now presented a formal offer to close the deal.
Marlon's agents were in Barcelona Thursday and met with Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu to iron out the final parts of the deal.
It's expeted that all documents will be signed in the coming days and a transfer which benefits Barça financially will be announced.
The Catalan club recalled Marlon from a two-year loan at Nice this month, with the motive being to sell him this summer.
There was interest from West Ham, but finally it will be Southampton where he moves -- Barça will have no option to re-sign him but will have bonuses dependent on his performances in England.
Barça signed Marlon for six million euros. He made a couple of first team appearances under Luis Enrique but was mainly a B team player before joining Nice on loan last year.
