Barça substitute Sergi Roberto substituted because of a thigh injury

Further tests on Wednesday will reveal the extent of the problem

Sergi Roberto had to be taken off at the end of Barcelona's 3-3 draw with Levante on Tuesday with an injury problem.

Ronald Koeman revealed the reason for taking the midfielder off, which caused surprise at first as he had only come on for Ronald Araujo at half time. Riqui Puig replaced him in the final 10 minutes.

The first tests have found that Roberto's suffering from a thigh issue in the same area that forced him to miss a number of months earlier this season.

The midfielder will undergo further tests at the club's training ground on Wednesday to determine the full extent of the injury.

Roberto first injured his thigh against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda in November. He returned two months later but re-injured the thigh in the Copa del Rey game against Granada in January, his second game back from injury.

The Spain international made his second comeback last month as a substitute in the defeat to Real Madrid.
