The Frenchman's deal is up next summer and Barça don't want to lose him for free

Ousmane Dembele's future remains uncertain. He is out of contract with Barcelona in 2022 and has not yet agreed a renewal with the club.

Barça will listen to offers for the French forward if he doesn't sign a new deal to avoid losing him for free next summer.

However, Dembele is in no rush to sit down and discuss negotiate, per an interview with L'Equipe from the France camp this week.

"I don't know, we will see. We will meet with Barça. I still have time, there's no rush [for me] or for them, we will see what happens. Firstly, I am completely focused on the European Championships with France and then I will go on holiday. It has been a long season," Dembele said.

The reality is Barça are in a rush. If Dembele doesn't want to renew, they will have to look to sell this summer. They cannot allow him to go for free next year.

On Lionel Messi, Dembele added: "We get on very well. I am next to him in the dressing room. He's a good guy, a leader, he's open, talks a lot. I have got on well with him from the first day. There's no pressure playing with him, he gives a lot of advice on the pitch."
