Bad news for Xavi Hernandez. The Barcelona coach will be without Nico Gonzalez for next weekend's game against Osasuna in LaLiga at Camp Nou.
The Galician midfielder picked up his fifth booking of the season in Sunday's 2-1 win at Elche and must server a one-game suspension as a consequence.
Nico, who came on for Frenkie de Jong after 68 minutes, can deem himself unfortunate to have been cautioned for one of his first challenges in the game.
Until now, he is the only player to have played in every match since Xavi took over. That will change next weekend against Osasuna.
In principle, though, Xavi is well covered without him: De Jong, Sergio Busquets, Gavi and Pedri have been rotating the three central midfield positions.
