Only ter Stegen, Lenglet, De Jong and Messi are considered 'untouchable' this summer

The humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League (2-8) will have major consequences for Barça's squad. With very few exceptions, the club will listen to offers for the majority of the squad this summer. Some players previously had "untouchable" status due to their past achievements but there's an overwhelming belief, after repeated failures in Europe, that now is the time to restructure and plan for the long-term future of the club. And to do that, Barça need a lot more money.

The only players who won't be sold - for any price - are Marc Andre ter Stegen, Clement Lenglet, Frenkie de Jong and Lionel Messi. The German stopper has been a vital part of the team over the last few years, Lenglet and de Jong are recent signings and the club expects them both to get even better, whilst Messi is a special case due to being a special player.

DEPARTURES

The players that have no future at Barça are Neto (the backup goalkeeper will come from La Masia), Umtiti (refused to have knee surgery), Junior (cost €12m and hasn't taken his chance), Rakitic (refused to leave last summer), Rafinha (has been loaned out three seasons in a row), Vidal (contract expires in 2021), Coutinho (most expensive signing in Barça's history, hasn't found his place at the club), Braithwaite (available for €18m) and Arthur (who will join Juventus imminently).

Another more surprising names on the 'for sale' list are Pique and Busquets. Both have been with Barça since the 2008/09 season. Jordi Alba has been at the club since 2012/13 and Suarez, who was seen as 'untouchable' in his previous six seasons, at 33 is available also.

If a good offer comes in for Semedo, Griezmann or Dembele - three players who haven't produced the desired performances in a Barça shirt - they will be moved on. Sergi Roberto is another long-term Barça man who could leave this summer as the club plans to create space in the squad for youngsters to step up. Ansu Fati, Riqui Puig and Ronald Araujo are all expected to form part of the senior squad next season.

Depending on how those transfers go, Barça want to reinforce the team with deals for Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan) and Eric Garcia (Manchester City). Personal terms have been agreed with both players but no such agreement exists between Barça and their respective clubs.
