FC Barcelona told SPORT they categorically deny they've had any contact with River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo about a move to the Camp Nou. This was after a report in Argentina, specifically TNT's journalist Fernando Czyz, who claimed that 'El Muñeco' was the leading candidate to take over from Ernesto Valverde if he a managerial change took place during the season. Barça say there's no truth to that report whatsoever.
