Barça defender Pique: It's going to be very difficult to win this league

The Barcelona defender spoke after the goalless draw at Sevilla

Gerard Pique appeared to complain about the refereeing in La Liga on Friday, insinuating that they are directing the title towards Real Madrid.

After the goalless draw at Sevilla, the Barça defender said "it's going to be very difficult to win La Liga now it's not in out hands. I think very few points will be dropped, but we're going to try."

Pique's comments were based on Madrid's two wins in the last week since the league returned. "I have seen what's happened in these two game weeks and it's going to be difficult for Madrid to drop points."

Without a doubt, Pique was referring to the goal which opened the scoring against Eibar, with Karim Benzema offside, and especially to the goal which Valencia had disallowed against Madrid on Thursday at 0-0.

Pique had earlier been angry with the refereeing in Barça's Seville stalemate. He was booked in the first half for a foul on Munir in the 39th minute and he clearly did not feel the challenge was worthy of a yellow card.

He's not the first Barça player to point the finger at the referees. Arturo Vidal also analysed the Valencia non-goal with a cheeky Instagram post on Thursday.

On Friday's draw, Pique added: “Sevilla are third in the table because they are a great team ... It was a competitive game and a draw, in the end, means we no longer depend on ourselves to win the league. But I don't think the sensations are that bad, we had our chances."
