Most recently on Wednesday, as they lost to Leganes at Butarque. The rotation began against Real Sociedad at Anoeta, with Rafinha and Semedo in the side. Both had to be subbed off for Coutinho and Sergio Busquets as Barcelona won by the skin of their teeth.
It was a warning, but it did not work. A few days later Valverde rotated again as Girona came to Camp Nou. Semedo was picked again, along with Lenglet, Arthuro Vidal and Arthur. Lenglet was sent off and it changed the game. Arthur and Arturo came off as Barca tried to fight their way back ahead, but failed and drew.
And that did not stop Valverde doing the same against Leganes at Butarque. Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez were droppe,d with Thomas Vermaelen and Munir El Haddadi starting, and neither did well as the Catalans were sunk 2-1.
