The Brazilian will return as an act of good faith as he looks to bring an end to his time at Barça

Arthur Melo has decided to return to Barcelona as an act of good faith whilst he continues to negotiate his exit from the club.

The Brazilian midfielder is expected at the Ciudad Condal in the next few hours but this 'gesture' isn't likely to change Barça's stance.

Sources close to the club have told SPORT that before Arthur is allowed to enter the training ground he'll need to undergo a PCR rest, as well meet with the director of football and head coach.

There's still an ongoing disciplinary investigation over Arthur's decision to go AWOL from Barcelona.

It goes without saying that there's absolutely no chance Arthur plays for Barça again. The midfielder refused to rejoin his teammates on the 28th July to undergo PCR tests. He instead decided to remain in Brazil and told the club he'd never play for them again, despite being under contract.

Arthur is expected to be hit with a heavy fine for his indiscipline and this act of goodwill has come far too late to change Barça's mind.
