David Gordo has until the middle of October to name his final squad

FC Barcelona forward Ansu Fati is among the 50 players on the long list delivered by Spain U17 coach David Gordo to FIFA for next month's World Cup.

The list will not be made public as it is not yet official: the Spain boss must reduce the number on the list and has until Oct. 16 to name his final squad for the tournament in Brazil.

The World Cup starts on Oct. 26 and ends on Nov. 17, so if Ansu takes part and Spain progress, he could miss up to seven Barcelona games -- five in the league and two in the Champions League.

  • FC Barcelona - Eibar (Liga)
  • Slavia Prague - FC Barcelona (Champions)
  • FC Barcelona - Real Madrid (Liga)
  • FC Barcelona - Real Valladolid (Liga)
  • Levante - FC Barcelona (Liga)
  • FC Barcelona - Slavia Prague (Champions)
  • FC Barcelona - Celta (Liga)

That would mean the young Barça forward would miss the first Clasico of the season against Real Madrid, scheduled for Camp Nou at the end of October.

However, it seems Barça will not let him leave without a fight. Ernesto Valverde has already said it would be a setback to lose him for such a length of time.
