The club's director of football, Joaquin Caparrós, admits they are interested in re-signing Vidal

Sevilla's director of football, Joaquín Caparrós, has admitted this Tuesday that he's interested in re-signing Aleix Vidal. It's a footballer he "knows well" and expects further developments from Thursday.

"We need to lay out the timeframe. After the match against Ujpest, we'll focus on players we can bring in immediately. We're working hard, we're relaxed but clear in our ideas, and there are five deals on the table. We need to bring in a striker but we're going step by step," confirmed Caparros.

The director of football was in front of the media as he presented the club's new defenders Sergi Gomez and Joris Gnagnon and this is where he admitted his interest in signing Barça's Aleix.

The deal is on hold as Sevilla await official confirmation of Joaquin Correa's move to Lazio. Sevilla have lined up Vidal to replace the Argentine. Once Correa's move is official, which could be any hour now, it should free up Vidal to re-join his former side.

The full back has barely been used at Barcelona over the last two seasons and a move back to the Sanchez Pizjuan could reignite his career.
