FC Barcelona player Jordi Alba has responded strongly to Pele's comments that Lionel Messi only has one foot.
"Pele must not be able to see very well if he says what he says about Leo. It seems like a lie that someone in the world of football could speak like that," the Barça left-back said.
Alba has no doubts that Messi is the best in the world and feels that the Ballon d'Or has fallen victim to campaigns in Madrid.
"Leo's the best in the world by some distance," he added. "We all know there are campaigns from clubs and press, but Messi's the best by a difference."

Alba also spoke about the latest on his new contract. His current terms expire in 2020.
"The club are speaking with my agents," he said. "I've told them I don't want to know anything because I am only focused on football. It would be stupid to lose my focus."
