Despite the constant rumours surrounding Quique Setien's future at Barcelona beyond the end of the current season, the only certainty is that the coach still has an excellent relationship with his bosses, the sporting director Eric Abidal and his assistant Ramon Planes.
Evidence of that is the meeting that Setien, Abidal and Planes had this week, which coincided with a dinner in which some of Setien's coaching staff were also present.
The meal happened on Wednesday and during it both Abidal and Planes transmitted to Setien their confidence in the work he's carrying out at Camp Nou. The encouraged him to continue until the challenge of fighting for La Liga, even though the task is now a difficult one, with Real Madrid four points clear, before focusing on the Champions League.
All of the coaching staff at Barcelona are aware that there's a lot at play in the coming weeks and that's why they're working with so much attention to detail.
During the meeting on Wednesday, there were also talks about next season. Setien and Abidal drew up some guidlines for the preparation for the new campaign, which will start later than usual.
