The Inter technical director did not seem like he was going to budge

The Lautaro operation has suffered a blow in recent hours. Barca's optimism has been shaken by the comments from Inter's sporting director, Piero Ausilio. He said on Wednesday on Sky Sports that the Argentine player will only move if someone pays his release clause.

"If they want Lautaro, they will have to pay his clause, there's only one way of getting him out of Inter. And it's paying the clause that everyone knows, there's no use hiding it," said Ausilio.

"It's a clause that lasts until the first few days of July, it won't last long, and it's the only way that Lautaro Martinez leaves Inter.

"We're not arguing about it with anyone. Simply because we're focused on him, he's an active player important at the club and he has two more years of contract at Inter.

"We have no intention of selling the most important Inter players, but keeping them and eventually strengthening on the market. That applies to Lautaro."
