Villarreal appoint Pacheta after binning former Barca coach Setien

Following Quique Setién's dismissal as the Villarreal coach, the Yellow Submarines have already found a replacement in the dugout: Jose Rojo Martín, better known as Pacheta, is the new head coach for the current season, a familiar face in the league. He has signed a contract until the end of the 23/24 season.

Pacheta, who was the coach of Valladolid until last season, is now facing a major challenge in his career. Villarreal has had a difficult start to the season, with three losses and only one victory in the first four matches, placing them in fifteenth place in LaLiga.

Raúl González, the coach of Real Madrid B, was strongly considered as Setién's replacement, but ultimately, Pacheta was chosen for the role.

The 'Yellow Submarine,' typically a contender for European positions, aims to turn their season around starting from the next match, where they will visit Rayo Vallecano.
