The bonus cash would have been for managing the competition's audiovisual rights

More information and leaks regarding the controversial Super League. Der Spiegel have had access to the 'binding' contract, according to Florentino Perez, that the 12 founding clubs signed and have revealed that FC Barcelona and Real Madrid would have earned 60 million euros more than the other teams for managing the competition's audiovisual rights.

The German outlet adds that the two biggest clubs in Spanish football would have received said payment in two chunks of 30 million across the first two years of the Super League. Milan, Inter Milan and Atletico de Madrid were, in principle, due to receive the least money. All the founding members had reserved rights to exclusively transmit some games live on their own platforms.

Per the journalist Isaac Lluch, the contract signed by the 12 clubs predicted one possible cause for the competition to be annulled: if the Barça socios rejected the club's involvement in the competition, the other clubs could debate whether their absence would devalue the league too much. In the case that 70 percent of the clubs voted yes, it would have been halted with immediate effect.

Super League sources consulted by SPORT neither confirmed nor denied the existence of any of the above clauses. Barça continue to point to the statement released on Thursday when asked for more information on their involvement in the project.
