Ramos scored in stoppage time on his 160th appearance for La Roja but it was too late

Spain captain Sergio Ramos analysed the team's defeat 3-2 to England in Seville on Monday, the first loss of the Luis Enrique era.

Ramos scored in stoppage time but it was too little, too late for La Roja, who went in at half time three goals down. It was the third game running in which Ramos, who was earning his 160th cap, has scored for the national team.

The Real Madrid defender lamented "gifting the first half [to England] with mistakes which we were made to pay with by goals. A team like England condemns you, because they're a world class national team with great individuals."

However, he also looked for the positives: "We reacted really well in the second half, forcing England back into their area. We did a lot of things well to get back into the game."

Ramos finished: "It's a shame because it brings a good run to an end and a win would have put us in the final four [of the UEFA Nations League]. Now we have another chance against Croatia."
