Piqué's rant against Andorran government as he threatens to leave country

The former Barcelona defender says he will move FC Andorra and change their name over stadium standoff

The Andorran government has decided that Andorra, the club presided over by Gerard Piqué, will not play next season at the Estadi Nacional. This has been reiterated by Alain Cabanes, the government's Secretary of State for Sport and Youth.

"We will help to mediate, or to find another place for them so that they can start the season properly, but it will not be at the Estadi Nacional," said Cabanes.

Cabanes' words quickly drew a response. Piqué, via his Twitter account, has responded more than forcefully to the Secretary of State for Sport and Youth. He has done so with data and a serious threat.

"We have invested more than €4 million in adapting the Estadi Nacional so that LaLiga will let us play and now you are kicking us out," he wrote.

"There is no sports facility in Andorra in conditions to be able to compete next year. Thank you for kicking us out of the country.

"We have no other solution but to leave and change the name of the club. Congratulations, you have left Andorra without professional football."

We will see how the situation is resolved, but it seems that both sectors are going to stretch the rope to the end. Nobody is giving in and it seems that Andorran football will be the big loser.
