The new Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovac says James is not going anywhere

No Neymar, no James Rodriguez. Florentino Perez will have to go to the transfer market to get a Cristiano Ronaldo replacement. Bayern Munich are not willing to let the Colombian go back to Madrid - he still has a year on loan at the Allianz at least.

Madrid have been thinking about bringing James back, but Niko Kovac, the new Bayern coach said: "There's no discussion, he'll play with us at least until the end of the 2018-19 season. The loan agreement with Madrid is still valid, later we'll decide if he stays with us longer."

Quotes which confirm what Rummenigge was saying, when he declared: "We are very happy with the player, we have an option and we will execute it."
