Bale remains in contact with people at his former club

Pochettino hasn't ruled out bringing the Welshman back

Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino has said Gareth Bale could return to the club from Real Madrid one day.

Bale left Spurs for Madrid in 2013 for a then world record fee but has been linked with a move back to England in recent transfer windows.

Pochettino, who has previously coached Espanyol and Southampton, wouldn't rule out Bale coming back to London.

“Of course he’s a fantastic player," the Argentine said of Bale. "I saw him in Madrid when we played there.

“He’s always kept in contact with the people who worked here in the past.

“I don’t have a close relationship with him or the people around him. But you never know what’s going to happen in football.”

Bale's time in Madrid has been plagued by injuries but coach Zinedine Zidane hopes he will be fit for the Club World Cup this month.
