Luka Modric renews his contract with Real Madrid until 2020

Luka Modric has renewed his contract with Real Madrid. Ahead of the clash with Legia Warsaw at the Santiago Bernabeu, the Croatian central midfielder and Los Blancos agreed a deal, which the club explained keeps him there until June 2020. 

Luka Modric will speak at a press conference on Wednesday to talk about his decision to extend his deal in the Spanish capital, the second central midfielder to do so in recent weeks, following the path of Toni Kroos, who signed on until 2022. Modric’s is shorter because he is older - his new deal takes him up until he is 34. His old deal expired in 2018.
