Madrid have let him go for 5 million a year on loan for two seasons

He cost them 80 million from Monaco in 2014

Real Madrid signed James Rodriguez three seasons ago after his fine 2014 World Cup displays for Colombia, for 75 million euros, with a deal that could rise to 90m. They had to pay Monaco an extra million for each UCL they participated in with him, so that's 78m at least.

Real Madrid have now let him go out on loan, for just 5m euros a season to Bayern Munich for two seasons. Then Bayern have the option to buy for a further 35.2 million euros, meaning Madrid will take back little over half of what they paid.
