The Real Madrid man responded to media while with Portugal

Television channel Cuatro have been able to get the first words from Cristiano Ronaldo since he was accused of defrauding he tax office of 14.7 million euros on Tuesday. 

Cameras from the Spanish television station encountered Ronaldo as he trained with Portugal in preparation for this summer's Conferations Cup in Russia.

"CLEAR ConSciencE"

Ronaldo was the focus as he left training after Tuesday's strories, with some reports saying if charged and convicted he could be facing anywhere between two and seven years in prison for tax evasion on image rights between 2011 and 2014. 

 

The Madrid forward didn't look like he was going to respond at first when reporters asked him: "Have you seen the press today?" 

However, looking at the camera, Ronaldo said: "Clear consicence." Then asked if he was innocent, he replied with a smile: "Always, man." 

SUPPORT FROM MADRID 

Cristiano Ronaldo was given support from his club Real Madrid on Wednesday, too. Los Blancos said they are "absolutely convinced that our player will prove his total innocence in this process."
