A lost case: Isco loses support of dressing room at Real Madrid

Solari habló en rueda de prensa de Isco / | Perform

Coach Solari has made it clear he doesn't count on the Spain midfielder

Isco's situation at Real Madrid is very complicated. The absence of the Spanish midfielder from the XI against Real Betis on Sunday and the fact he didn't come on for one minute despite the injuries at the club confirmed that Santiago Solari, the Madrid coach, does not count on him.

What in principle was only a sporting issue has now become a personal matter. Solari has remained firm despite the openings he's had to use the Spain international.

In addition, the numbers are proving Solari right. "In no way is it anything personal against Isco," says the Argentine coach, who feels that Isco's not training well and is out of form. Isco has been on the bench 15 times and has started twice since Solari took over from Julen Lopeteguo. He has played 410 minutes of football under him and has become his 20th man. Players like Reguilón and Valverde have already passed him.

Isco's only played more than five teammates since Solari's appointment -- the ones that have been injured for spells.

NO DRESSING ROOM SUPPORT

Isco is also losing the support of his teammates. The latest to give him a nudge is Dani Ceballos, the hero of Madrid's win over Real Betis on Sunday.

"It's time to work hard and speak little," the former Betis player said in a clear sign that Isco doesn't have the support of the dressing room, who are backing Solari and the club. Isco has it clear: six months on the bench until Solari goes (if he goes).
