PSG want to move Neymar on if they can

The Brazilian is out of favour in Paris and disliked by many

PSG are going through one of the worst moments since the arrival of Nasser Al-Khelaifi and both sportingly and institutionally it seems that things are getting worse and worse. And all this at the key moment of the season. The Parisians host Bayern this Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.

One of the most heavily criticised for the bad moment that the team is going through is Neymar. The Brazilian showed his ugly side on the pitch, with several signs of disapproval towards several of his teammates, and later in the dressing room, where he got into an angry argument with Luis Campos, the club's sporting director.

It's a situation that seems to have highlighted the desire of the club and its directors to put Neymar in the shop window once again. They had already proposed it to him last summer, but his very high salary and his automatic renewal until 2027 stopped him leaving.

Neymar's numbers on the pitch are indisputable this year. In 27 games this term, he has 17 goals and 16 assists, although his level after the World Cup is not the same as it was during the first three months of the season. Despite this, many off-field scandals continue to tarnish his image.

Beyond his disputes and arguments, the Brazilian has also been singled out by his neighbours, who, fed up with his parties, and ended up denouncing him at his 31st birthday celebration. Even the mayor of the city, Luc Wattelle, has branded him a "disrespectful individual".

All this adds up to PSG's desire to keep Messi and Mbappé's continuity ahead of Neymar's. Something increasingly complicated if the club is also committed to building a more competitive and more united team.

Neymar's future is once again the subject of conversation in the upper echelons of the Parisian club, who, aware of the difficulty of any operation involving the Brazilian, may take any opportunity to put an end to his time in the City of Light.
