The Parisian club will lose the Argentine star at the end of his deal

PSG are facing a particularly hectic summer. After the umpteenth failure in the Champions League, the French side are already thinking about next season and one of the names that will not continue is Leo Messi.

The Argentinian ends his contract at the end of the season and his future, be it Barcelona or Arabia, seems far from Paris. With his departure and the salary relief, the club wants to try to sign Bernardo Silva, according to Le Parisien. The team already tried to sign him last summer, but the Portuguese player prioritised Manchester City.

PSG's sporting adviser Luis Campos was the one who discovered the midfielder's talent at AS Monaco and knows him particularly well. His footballing level and possible understanding with Kylian Mbappé generate consensus at the top of the club and he is considered the ideal replacement for Leo Messi. The alternative names would be Michael Olise, from Crystal Palace, and Rayan Cherki, from Olympique Lyon.

As well as looking for an attacking reference and to finalise the continuity or not of players like Neymar or Verratti, the club wants to palliate the departure of one of its stars with another star who is one step away from winning the treble with Pep Guardiola in Manchester. Barça have also reportedly shown interest in the midfielder, but the financial potential is much smaller and the player would not be unhappy with a return to Ligue 1.

At 28, Bernardo Silva has been one of the most decisive players at the Etihad: he has scored five goals and provided seven assists in a total of 51 appearances in all competitions. A player who has reached a great point of maturity and who understands and executes the game to perfection.
