PSG chief determined not to let Mbappe walk away

The world was excited at the presentation of Luis Enrique as PSG's new coach, and not just because of the new man in charge. After the Asturian's press conference, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi took the floor and spoke about the hot topic of the moment: Kylian Mbappé.

The Qatari was blunt when it came to answering whether Kylian's departure was on the cards, and commented that the club has no plans to let the Frenchman leave the club under any circumstances for nothing next summer.

"If Kylian wants to stay, he needs to sign a new contract. We cannot allow the best player in the world today to leave for free. He has no plans to leave for free," said Al-Khelaïfi.

"Our position is very clear. If Mbappe wants to stay, we want him to stay, but he must sign a new contract. He is not thinking of leaving for free. If someone has changed his mind, it's not our fault," he added.

Luis Enrique, the new PSG coach, also spoke about Mbappe.

"When we started talking about the project, we talked about all the possible panoramas. I'm not going to give any more details but anything can happen with all the players," the coach commented.

"He has a contract but we will see what can happen. In this world you never know what can happen. Be that as it may, we are confident of putting together a competitive and exciting team. What the president and I talk about doesn't interest anyone else," he added.
