The club were accused by Mediapart of paying a company to make accounts on social media

There’s a new scandal at PSG. The Parisian team created, according to French media Mediapart, accounts on social media to dig out their players. Among them, Kylian Mbappe, who has been making headlines recently for his supposed desire to leave the club in January.

The Paris side had, per the reports, given an external agency the go ahead to make an ‘army’ of fake accounts on Twitter to make ‘violent and dirty’ campaigns that attacked media and some club personalities, including players like Mbappe, when he was deciding whether to leave last season, or the directors of other clubs.

The investigation is similar to Barcagate, where fake accounts were used to do similars. It also highlights that fake accounts were used to discredit a fan who had a scrap with Neymar.
