Ander Herrera reveals details of the Messi and Mbappe relationship

There are many examples of teammates who speak highly of Lionel Messi. And, although his time at Paris Saint-Germain had as many bright spots as difficult moments, at the Parc des Princes they are also full of praise for the Argentine star, as Ander Herrera revealed. The former player of the French team shared a season with Messi, the first of the No 30' in Paris and the last of the Basque before returning to Athletic Club.

Ander spoke, during his time in Argentina, with 'TYC Sports' about what a figure like Leo landing in the PSG dressing room generated, making everyone fit 'after' him, even a name of the stature of Kylian Mbappé. "If you have Leo, everyone else is one step behind. Leo doesn't need to speak out to be respected - how am I going to raise my voice if Leo doesn't?" he said. He also clarified that there was never any problem between Mbappé and Messi: "It's a lie that there was a rift with Mbappé. I don't understand why, in order to praise one, you have to kill the other."

The Basque chose to recall how Lionel behaved in training: "He is a born winner, he never took an exercise as a joke. He always tried to be the best, he takes things seriously. Things don't happen by chance, apart from the talent he has and being touched by the wand. Without the character he has, you can't win seven Ballon d'Or".

For Ander Herrera there is no debate about who has been the best footballer in history: "As a team-mate he exceeded my expectations. I admired him a lot as a footballer, and then as a team-mate and as a person I admire him even more. He never had a bad gesture toward anyone. I had the opportunity to have a relationship with him, to have dinner with Fide (Di María) and Leo Paredes and the families. He gives you the feeling that they are normal, normal people, and he is the best in history", he said.
