Last Tuesday Antoine Griezmann said he didn't know if he would be playing in LaLiga next season. Yesterday Gil Marin announced that the French forward is joining Barça. "I know where he's going to play, I've known since March. At Barcelona."

It's interesting that a transfer would be announced by a CEO and not by the player himself. However, everything is possible in Griezmann's world. Nothing throughout this entire process has been what you would call normal either. From the initial "No" to Barça's offer which was announced to the public via a mini-documentary last summer. Then we had the video which confirmed Griezmann was leaving Atletico Madrid before the final set of fixtures had taken place. This news was received negatively by the Barça dressing room, as revealed by SPORT, and yesterday it appears the transfer mystery was finally confirmed by the CEO.

The last 'episode' of the show appears to be a strategic one on the part of Atletico. They hope to pressure Barça into announcing an agreement now which would force them to pay €200m rather than the €120m it'll cost on 1st July. Gil Marin doesn't talk very often and when it does, there's a reason behind it. The fallout and discussion which has come from his declarations were deliberate as it will only further frustrate the Barça fan base which isn't convinced of the deal in the first place. The 'show' follows Griezmann wherever he does.

Barça remain tight-lipped over all the speculation which makes sense. There's no rush as this won't be the last episode of the 'show'. Buckle up, there's plenty more to come.
