Tom Cruise and Cuba Gooding Jr. star in one of the most famous scenes in sporting cineme history in Jerry Maguire. The character Rod Tiwell, an american football player, demands that his agent, Maguire, "Show me the money", by screaming down the phone at him.

It's the best example of what professional sport today has become: money above all else. Neymar and his father have accepted Paris Saint-Germain's offer because it's worth a lot more for them. We're in a world of mercenaries where feelings and values are worth little. Or nothing.

Neymar already came to Barça for money. For the 40 million euro bonus that Rosell paid his father. An operation that has left the club between a rock and a hard place -- Bartomeu even accepted the club were responsible as a legal entity, paying a fine of 5.5 million euros to avoid further doule fraud charges.

Now Neymar and his father have returned the 'favour' to Barcelona by betraying them: they're going to PSG for another 50 million bonus for the father and 30 million a season for the son. What do the Blaugrana get? The 222 million euros release clause the French club must pay.

Barça also win peace. As Cruyff said, a player that's not happy at Barça is better off gone. And if Neymar prefers money to sporting projects, he's no good for the clyb. Here, the only untouchable player is Messi. And the future of Barça is not the Brazilian. A replacement must be sought: Griezmann, Mbappe or Dembele.

Goodbye, Neymar. Until never again. But before you go: show us the money!
