In just 45 minutes, Harry Kane dismantled the magic which was holding up Luis Enrique's new project. The English forward produced a wonderful performance at the Benito Villamarín which ended the La Roja's new-found excitement.

Kane is a marvelous footballer, a unique player at the level of the best in the game without having the talent of Lionel Messi, the athletisicm of Cristiano Ronaldo or the skills of Neymar, to give some examples.

He doesn't have the physical characteristics of a modern footballer but his intelligence helps him make the difference in games. In SPORT on Monday, we explained that Barcelona who are looking for a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

Names such as Pepe and Piatek have been thrown around although the name that Barça's technical committee are enamoured with is Harry Kane.

He would be the No.1 on the list but the finacial demands of any deal mean it's not a viable option. But Barça are certain: there is no other No.9 like him.

Kane dominated Spain with his movement, which led to the three England goals in the first half. He's a sensational player that helps his teammates play to their strengths, as is the case with Sterling and Rashford, two players that seem better by his side.

While Busquets and Thiago were losing balls in the middle of the pitch which caught out a listless defence, Kane was orchestrating in miliseconds lethal attacks for his colleagues.

Barça can't sign Kane but what they can do is backtrack on the sale of Paco Alcacer and bring back a goal scorer who's on his way to making history. Barça have the option on the table and, even though the possibility seems impossible, it's more in reach every day. Because now is when we discover Paco.
