The PSG star has apologised to his club in the topsy turvy tale

Football is a crazy world. What is white today is black tomorrow. And vice versa. Nothing is immutable. We journalists try to keep up with the information maelstrom. But the truth is that it is impossible to keep up with the pace of events. The 'Messi case' is a clear example of such frenzy. In just 48 hours he has gone from breaking off relations with PSG to apologising to the club and his teammates to try to redirect the crisis and, perhaps, define his future. There is no logical explanation for what is happening with the Argentine star.

The chronology of events is very clear: a month ago he decided to reject the renewal proposal because he did not see clearly the sporting project for next season, two days ago PSG sanctioned him with fifteen days of employment and salary for going to Saudi Arabia despite having permission from the club and yesterday Messi published a video on his social networks making an unprecedented act of contrition. Whoever understands it, let them explain it to me. Conclusion: Nobody knows exactly where Messi will play next season. Not even Messi himself.

THE TWO OFFERS THAT MESSI HAS

At the moment he only has two offers on the table: the continuity that PSG is offering him, or the huge (if you will pardon the expression) 400 million that Saudi Arabia would give him. No other club has officially moved to acquire the services of the Argentine crack. Barça's fine words for the moment are just that: a declaration of intent with more illusion than reality. Not even those closest to Messi are able to predict his future. But a decision has been made: within two months the unknown must be resolved. The footballer does not want to start the summer without a team.

THE VIABILITY PLAN

Barça's ambitious viability plan (reduction of 200 million euros in expenses) remains just that, a plan. In the event that it comes to fruition and LaLiga accepts it, the Blaugrana club could try to move forward with the signing of Messi. But there is little optimism. The mood in the offices of the Spotify Camp Nou swings at a dizzying pace. From euphoria to caution without interruption. With Tebas maintaining his inflexible discourse: there will be no favourable treatment. In these circumstances, it is logical that Messi has doubts, despite all the well-meaning messages that reach him from Barcelona. What will happen to Messi? That is the big unanswered question...
