It's time to make decisions and Barcelona must make some difficult ones if they want to sign everyone they plan to bring in this summer to move their sporting project along. In the middle of the debate surrounding ins and outs it Philippe Coutinho, a player who arrived as a star but who has not found his place.

In theory, he was signed to replace Andres Iniesta, but he has always felt more comfortable in an attacking position -- which is where Barça's untouchables play. Coutinho needs to play all the time to feel like a leader, but that's difficult at Barça, if not impossible.

DIFICULT DECISION

Barça and Coutinho must sit down and talk. Neither side is comfotable, Barça have not found a way to get the best out of him.

One solution is to give him more time to see if he can improve. The other is to go to the transfer market. Selling him is not east, though. Not because of his undoubted quality but because of how much Barça paid for him -- a club record 160 million euros if all variables are met.

Calmness and balance will be important in a high-voltage decision for the future.
