Bartomeu eyes signings to move on from crisis

After the racket, the signings. There's now no doubt that Josep Maria Bartomeu will end his mandate as Barcelona president. To do so, though, he has been obliged to shake up the board of directors with the aim of stopping the external noise and getting everyone united to fight for titles. The president knows what really interests the club's members and supporters: the ball. For that reason, he will try to bring an end to the controversy and the scandal to finish his project on a high with a good team around him. He wants to leave a sporting legacy behind and, therefore, has given express orders to sign two stars. 

It will be a tough summer but Barça will give everything to bring in Lautaro Martinez and/or Neymar to form the best attack in the world. They want to recover wasted time because they are also aware that things have not been done well since Neymar left. It remains to be seen if they will have the money to build a new historic team, but no one doubts that the club are looking to make a statement. The coronavirus crisis has stopped everything, but they are working on it and there's more optimism behind the season than you would imagine. 

Bartomeu has had to deal with a number of incidents, many provoked from the inside and now has hopes of a calm final 12 months at the helm. He wants to end the season -- with hopes still high of success -- and then win everything in 2021. The president has already overcome one crisis by calling elections and the team ended up winning a treble that no one expected. Now is different because Bartomeu will leave at the end of this mandate having served two terms, but he believes he can leave through the front door. And now that depends on success on the pitch. When Barça win, everything else is forgotten. Without a doubt, the team will appreciate the calm.
