If Barcelona end up losing the league this season it will not be because Sevilla could not beat Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. The title won't have escaped Barça due to what's happened in recent weeks, but for their own absurd mistakes earlier in the season. Such as against Deportivo and Malaga. These defeats are the ones which will cost them the title. No Madrid's win in their recent matches.

Having faith in Madrid to slip up at either Celta Vigo or Malaga is looking like the impossible dream. We've experienced bigger miracles this season, that's true. But the consistency of Zinedine Zidane's team looks like it will get them over the line. And Los Blancos are getting dangerously close to a double which would do a lot of damage to Barça and to Barcelonismo. Just thinking about it turns my stomach.

SPECTACULAR NEYMAR

Barcelona did what they had to do on Sunday, though, in the penultimate game of the season. Despite a number of absences in defence (without Sergi Roberto, Gerard Pique and, at the last minue, Mascherano), Luis Enrique's side played well against a Las Palmas side who also like to play good football. Technical superiority and the efficiency of the trident (Neymar was spectacular and scored a hat-trick) was enough to win the game, though.

Meanwhile, in Madrid, Nacho's cunning free-kick and Cristiano Ronaldo's good form meant Real didn't have to worry too much against a Sevilla side who down tools a few weeks ago. Jorge Sampaoli's side are a shadow of what they were and they chances of them producing a surprise at the Bernabeu were slim.

Now, all that's left is to pray. To hope for the impossible. La Liga is getting Whiter all the time. But, I insist, that's because of Barcelona's own errors.
