Barcelona are now taking things more calmly. Convinced that their unwanted players will be sold -- many of them will go on the tour of the U.S to get minutes and demonstrate thei worth -- planning is now focused on signing a couple more players and signing well.

With Arthur Melo and Clement Lenglet in, Barça are only looking for two top level players to complete the squad. And there will be no other incomings unless there's an unexpected departure or injury. Everything suggested that Jasper Cillessen was leaving and there was a new goalkeeper tied down, but not even that looks likely now.

Ernesto Valverde and the signing committee have looked at the market and are working on five or six names with the intention of signing two. There's time until the end of August and they will not overpay given all the players targetted want to move two Camp Nou.

Signing two midfielders, one who scores goals, is the objective. Willian, De Jong, Rabiot... and another couple of players whose names have not come out yet. The idea is to finalise the squad as soon as possible, although Valverde is not in a rush.

The Barça coach is happy to wait and to sign well. What is without doubt, though, is that this season's squad will be much smaller and that is good news for the academy.
