The first goal scored by a Barcelona player away from home in the Champions League gave the Catalans life in their tie with Chelsea. Barça had failed to score in Athens, Lisbon (it was an own goal) and Turin in the group stage. And they were struggling in London until Christensen's present. And there was Iniesta. And Messi, who scored his first goal against Chelsea in his ninth game against them.

Barça suffered in London because they made a lot of errors, like not marking Willian on the edge of the box when he had already sent two shots against the posts. Or when they were unable to create space for Messi and not capable of changing the rhythm of the game. And because Chelsea were at a good level.

As has been common in the last month, Barça didn't play well but they return to the Ciudad Condal with treasure: Messi's away goal which gives them a slight lead. It will not be easy because Chelsea, like Real Madrid, showed that they might be dead in the league but they're alive in the Champions League.

Barça can't be so predictable in attack in Europe because if they are there is no road to Kiev. They're capable of hypnotising the rival but don't seem to have a real threat in attack, save Messi and a couple of Luis Suarez chances. There is a lot of room for improvement.

Paulinho deserves a special mention. His style does not fit in with the Blaugrana and too many times he doesn't know where he is or how to act. More is demanded from the fourth midfielder at Barcelona than Paulinho is currently offering.
