Official: Miranda returns to Barça as Schalke loan cut short
The left-back spent the season in Germany, making 11 Bundesliga appearances
Barcelona left-back Juan Miranda will not remain at Schalke 04 for the second season of a tw-year loan and will instead return to Camp Nou early, the Catalan club have confirmed.
Miranda has spent the last season in Germay, where he played 11 Bundesliga games (eight starts, 781 minutes) for Schalke, who finished 12th in the table in a season to forget.
The defender, who said his goodbyes to Schalke on Tuesday, joined Barça's academy in 2014 from Real Betis. The Seville born youngster has progressed through La Masia and was involved with the first team in 2018-19.
He made his debut on Oct. 31, 2018, in a Copa del Rey game against Cultural Leonesa. He was also involved in a Champions League game against Tottenham at Camp Nou that same year.
I would like to show my gratitude and say that I am very proud to have been part of @S04. It has been my first year as a professional, my first year outside of Spain but I have felt at home thanks to all the people who are part of this awesome club.

The left-back could remain as competition for Jordi Alba. Despite the sale of Marc Cucurella to Getafe for 10 million euros, though, Barça still have Junior Firpo for that role. Therefore, Miranda could leave on another loan or could even be sold to help bring in more money.
